How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job – Exams Officer

    Salary – Permanent, Full Time – Monday – Friday (36 hours per week) – £28,225 - £29,475 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience

    Holiday – 25 days per annum plus Bank Holidays

    Location – Ware & Broxbourne Campus

    About the Role

    The post holder is responsible for managing the College’s examinations and assessment processes across all campuses and qualification types. This includes supporting internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with awarding body regulations, JCQ requirements, and other relevant internal and external agencies. The role involves supporting the examination’s function and overseeing the administration of both academic and vocational examinations.

    The post holder will help the implementation, review, and continuous improvement of all examination-related processes across the College. They will be responsible for the collection, distribution, validation, and quality assurance of examination data, ensuring the effective delivery of the examinations cycle across all campuses. In addition, the post holder will provide guidance and support to curriculum teams on quality assurance requirements, monitoring the impact and effectiveness of actions taken to drive continuous improvement and maintain compliance.

    About You

    You will bring:

    ✔ IT literacy with a high level of accuracy & numeracy

    ✔ Minimum L2 qualification in Maths and English or the commitment to achieve this qualification within a specified time period

    ✔ Officer level experience in a busy office environment, with the ability to manage information efficiently & effectively

    ✔ Experience of working in an exams or awarding body environment
