How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Senior / Managing Quantity Surveyor (Residential)

    Are you a Quantity Surveyor looking to take ownership of a regional commercial function within a rapidly expanding housebuilder, where you will play a key role in developing a growing team whilst influencing the commercial success of major residential developments?

    This is an excellent opportunity to join one of a UK industry-leading organisation, where you will become a senior commercial leader, helping to drive the continued growth of their expanding regional office, whilst driving the performance of major projects and mentoring Quantity Surveyors.

    This well-established business is experiencing significant growth, with turnover set to increase from £40m to £200m following a number of major contract wins. As part of this expansion, they are looking to strengthen their commercial team with an experienced Quantity Surveyor who can lead from the front and help shape the future of the region.

    On offer is a varied and autonomous role where you will oversee the commercial delivery of multiple residential developments, whilst leading and developing a team of Quantity Surveyors and working closely with senior regional management to maximise commercial performance.

    This role would suit a Quantity Surveyor looking to step into a key leadership position within a business offering genuine long-term progression as it continues its ambitious expansion.

    The Role

    Lead the Quantity Surveying team across residential developments
    Oversee commercial reporting, forecasting, cash flow and final accounts
    Manage subcontractor accounts whilst developing strong client and supply chain relationships
    Mentor, develop and support junior commercial staff

    Quantity Surveyor
    Residential housebuilding or main contractor background
    Previous experience leading commercial teams or mentoring Surveyors
