How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Vacancy

    Apprentice Welder Fabricator

    Location:          SARVAL, Hartshill, with travel

    Business:          SARIA’s UK operations have a market-leading presence in a wide range of sectors associated with the food chain. The Group’s companies manufacture quality products for use in human and animal foodstuffs, agriculture, aquaculture, and industrial applications. The company also produces biofuels and renewable energy and provides services for farming and the food industry. The company has a UK annual turnover approaching £280 million and employs around 1,000 people at 19 sites across the country.

    The Position

    Applications are invited for an Apprentice Welder Fabricator based at our SARVAL, Hartshill site. This is a full time, permanent, position working 40 hours per week.

    As an Apprentice Welder Fabricator, your duties and responsibilities will be varied in support of the existing team and will include developing skills and knowledge in the following areas-

    Learn to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints and engineering specifications.

    Learn to accurately measure and mark out materials using engineering measuring equipment.

    Assist with measuring, cutting, shaping and preparing metal materials for fabrication.

    Assist with the assembly, fitting and alignment of fabricated components under the supervision of experienced engineers.

    Learn and develop practical welding skills using MIG, TIG and MMA (Arc) welding techniques, where applicable.

    Assist in inspecting completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and engineering specifications.

    Assist with the repair and maintenance of metal structures, machinery and equipment components.

    Safely use and maintain hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment following appropriate training.

    Follow all Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) procedures, company policies and safe working practices at all times.

    Provide support to the engineering team during planned maintenance and repair activities.

    Carry out general workshop duties, including housekeeping, material handling and equipment preparation.

    Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.

    Work towards successfully completing a relevant Welder Fabricator Apprenticeship while developing practical skills and technical knowledge.

    Demonstrate a positive attitude towards learning by seeking feedback, asking questions and actively participating in training and development opportunities.

    You will be required to undertake additional company training in other disciplines to further develop and complement a full skill set needed for the role.

    We will support you as part of a structured Apprenticeship programme where you will attain a Level 3 qualification on a day release basis.

    The Person

    Minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 4/C or above, including English and Maths (or equivalent).

    Full Clean UK Driving Licence

    Positive, hands-on and proactive approach to work.

    Willingness to learn and develop new skills.

    Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    Reliable, punctual and safety conscious.

    Salary:  Apprentice rates depending on age
