How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
    Primary School - Westminster
    Start Date: September 2026 to July 2027
    Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday

    The Role
    As an HLTA, you will support teaching and learning across Key Stage 2, delivering targeted interventions, covering classes where required and working closely with teachers to ensure pupils make excellent progress. A key aspect of the role will involve supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them engage positively with learning and develop confidence both inside and outside the classroom.

    Responsibilities

    Deliver targeted small group and one-to-one interventions across KS2.
    Support pupils with SEMH needs using positive behaviour management and tailored support strategies.
    Deliver Maths and English interventions to raise attainment.
    Provide whole-class cover during teacher absence when required.
    Work collaboratively with teachers to plan and deliver engaging learning activities.
    Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
    Promote positive behaviour and contribute to an inclusive learning environment.
    Build strong relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.The School is Looking For

    An experienced HLTA or highly experienced Teaching Assistant with primary school experience.
    Strong experience supporting pupils across Key Stage 2.
    Previous experience supporting children with SEMH needs.
    Confidence delivering interventions and leading whole-class learning when required.
    Excellent communication, organisation and behaviour management skills.
    HLTA status or equivalent experience is desirable.If you are a passionate HLTA looking to make a real difference to KS2 pupils, including those with SEMH needs, we would love to hear from you.
