How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Academics are working in partnership with an outstanding and welcoming primary school in Hammersmith & Fulham to recruit an enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026.

    This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated graduate who is considering a career in primary teaching and wants to gain meaningful, hands-on experience before completing a PGCE, School Direct or other Initial Teacher Training programme. The school has an excellent reputation for developing graduates into successful teachers and provides ongoing mentoring, training and career progression.

    Graduate Teaching Assistant
    Location: Hammersmith & Fulham, West London
    Start Date: September 2026
    Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only (September 2026 - July 2027)
    Salary: £95-£105 per day (dependent on experience)About the Role

    Working alongside experienced class teachers, you will support pupils across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, helping to deliver engaging lessons and ensuring every child reaches their full potential. You'll provide one-to-one support, lead small group interventions and play an active role in promoting children's academic, social and emotional development.

    This varied role will also provide experience supporting pupils with SEND, making it ideal for graduates looking to build a broad understanding of primary education.

    Responsibilities

    Support teaching and learning across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
    Deliver targeted intervention sessions in English and Maths.
    Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils who require additional help.
    Assist children with SEND to access the curriculum successfully.
    Help create an engaging, inclusive and positive classroom environment.
    Support behaviour management and encourage pupil confidence and independence.
    Contribute to the wider life of the school through trips, events and extracurricular activities.The Ideal Candidate

    Holds a degree in any subject.
    Is passionate about pursuing a career in primary education.
    Has experience working with children through tutoring, mentoring, coaching, childcare, youth work or volunteering (desirable but not essential).
