How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Certification Manager – Flammability (DER Pathway)

    Fort Worth, Texas | Onsite

iO Associates is partnering with a rapidly growing aerospace engineering and testing organisation to recruit a Certification Manager to lead its FAA flammability certification function.

This is a rare opportunity to step into a leadership position while being supported on the pathway to becoming an FAA Designated Engineering Representative (DER). If you're an experienced aerospace certification professional with strong flammability expertise and aspirations to build a team, this role offers genuine long-term career progression.

Our client is investing heavily in expanding its certification capability and is looking for an individual who can help shape the future of the department while remaining technically hands-on.

    The Opportunity

As Certification Manager, you will take ownership of customer certification programmes, act as the technical lead for flammability compliance activities, and play a key role in developing the company's certification strategy.

Working closely with customers, engineering teams and regulatory stakeholders, you'll lead certification activities while building the foundations of a growing certification department.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to move beyond individual contributor responsibilities into a leadership role with clear progression towards FAA DER authorization.

    Key Responsibilities

Lead aerospace flammability certification programmes from planning through to compliance.
Prepare certification test plans, reports and technical documentation.
Interpret FAA regulations and determine applicable flammability compliance requirements.
Review engineering drawings, materials and design data for certification compliance.
Conduct and witness aircraft material and component flammability testing.
Provide technical certification guidance to customers throughout project delivery.
Develop and improve certification processes, procedures and best practices.
Build and mentor a growing certification team as the business expands.
Work closely with senior leadership to shape the future direction of the certification function.

    About You

We're looking for experienced aerospace certification professionals who have:

Significant experience in aerospace certification, with a strong background in aircraft flammability compliance.
Knowledge of FAA certification requirements and aircraft material qualification.
Experience producing certification documentation, test plans and compliance reports.
The ability to work directly with customers and regulatory authorities.
    Strong communication and leadership skills.
A desire to develop into a people leader and build a high-performing certification team.
Previous management experience is welcomed but not essential. Candidates looking to take their first step into leadership are encouraged to apply.

    What's on Offer

Opportunity to lead and build an aerospace certification function.
Structured pathway towards FAA Designated Engineering Representative (DER) authorization.
High level of autonomy and influence within a growing organisation.
Work on a wide variety of aerospace programmes supporting leading OEMs and suppliers.
Competitive salary with relocation assistance available.
Long-term career progression into senior technical and leadership positions.
If you're looking for an opportunity where you can combine technical expertise with leadership while progressing towards DER authorization, we'd love to hear from you.
