How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Qualified Teacher - Primary & Secondary PRU

    Location: Rochdale
    Pay: £180-£250 per day (depending on experience)
    Job Type: Temporary to Long-Term
    Start Date: September 2026

    Are you a passionate and dedicated Qualified Teacher looking to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people? Do you have experience working with pupils who display challenging behaviour or require additional support to engage in education?

    We are seeking an enthusiastic and resilient Qualified Teacher to join a specialist Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in the Rochdale area. This rewarding opportunity involves teaching both primary and secondary-aged pupils in a supportive and structured environment, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

    The Role

    As a Qualified Teacher, you will:

    Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils.
    Teach and support primary and secondary-aged pupils with challenging behaviour.
    Create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
    Use effective behaviour management strategies to encourage engagement and positive outcomes.
    Monitor pupil progress and adapt teaching to support individual learning needs.
    Work closely with support staff, senior leaders, parents/carers, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
    Promote pupils' emotional wellbeing, confidence, and personal development.

    Requirements

    We are looking for candidates who:

    Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
    Have experience teaching primary and/or secondary-aged pupils.
    Have experience working with pupils with challenging behaviour, SEMH needs, or within a PRU, Alternative Provision, or specialist setting (desirable).
    Are confident delivering engaging lessons to pupils with a range of abilities.
    Have excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
    Are resilient, adaptable, patient, and committed to improving outcomes for young people.
    Have strong communication and organisational skills.
    Hold an Enhanced Child and Adult DBS registered on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for a new DBS.

    Desirable Skills

    Experience in a PRU, Alternative Provision, or specialist education setting.
    Knowledge of trauma-informed practice and restorative approaches.
    Experience developing personalised learning plans and interventions.
