How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Teaching Assistant - SEN (Complex Needs)

    Location: Eccles, M30
    Pay: £110-£120 per day (depending on experience)
    Job Type: Temporary to Long-Term
    Start Date: September 2026

    Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs? Do you have experience working with pupils with complex needs, or transferable skills from care, support work, or other specialist settings?

    We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in the Eccles (M30) area. This is a rewarding classroom-based role supporting pupils with a wide range of complex learning and additional needs.

    The Role

    As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

    Provide classroom-based support to pupils with a range of complex Special Educational Needs.
    Support pupils with their learning, communication, social development, and independence.
    Work alongside the class teacher and wider multidisciplinary team to deliver personalised learning.
    Use a range of communication strategies, visual aids, and sensory resources to support pupil engagement.
    Assist with personal care where required.
    Promote a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.

    Requirements

    We are looking for candidates who:

    Have experience working with children or young people with SEN and complex needs.
    Have transferable skills from roles such as care work, support work, residential care, healthcare, or youth work.
    Are patient, caring, resilient, and committed to supporting pupils with additional needs.
    Can work effectively as part of a team while using their own initiative.
    Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    Are willing to support pupils with personal care and mobility where required.
    Hold an Enhanced Child and Adult DBS registered on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for a new DBS.

    Desirable Skills

    Experience supporting pupils with Autism (ASC), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), or complex medical needs.
    Knowledge of communication methods such as PECS, Makaton, or visual timetables.
    Manual handling or Team Teach training (desirable but not essential).
    A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.If you're passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children and young people with complex needs, we'd love to hear from you.
