How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    An established, forward-thinking tier 1 Principal Contractor with a strong presence across the UK and Ireland, delivering large-scale, high-value construction projects across the commercial, healthcare, residential and life sciences sectors are looking for a Health & Safety Advisor to join their team.

    The Role

    Reporting to the Head of Health & Safety, you'll provide practical support and guidance to project teams, promoting a proactive safety culture and ensuring compliance across our construction sites.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    Promoting health and safety best practice across the business and our subcontractors.
    Ensuring compliance with current health and safety legislation.
    Reviewing subcontractor RAMS and safe systems of work.
    Supporting the development of health and safety policies and procedures.
    Delivering health and safety initiatives and assisting with training.
    Conducting regular site inspections, audits and accident investigations.

    About You

    You'll have:

    A recognised Health & Safety qualification (NEBOSH, NCRQ, BSc or MSc, or equivalent).
    Previous experience in a Health & Safety Advisor role within the construction industry.
    Strong knowledge of current UK health and safety legislation.
    Experience carrying out accident and incident investigations.
    Excellent communication and influencing skills.
