Permanent position
£20.81 per hour
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and diagnosing heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) to ensure optimal performance and safety. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical and electrical background, who are committed to delivering high-quality service.
Responsibilities
* Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on HGVs to ensure compliance with safety standards.
* Diagnose faults using schematics and electrical diagrams, then carry out necessary repairs or replacements.
* Perform fabrication and welding tasks as required for bodywork or structural repairs.
* Assist with the assembly of vehicle components or modifications as needed.
* Ensure all work is completed in accordance with manufacturer specifications and safety regulations.
* Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities and repairs performed.
* Adhere to health and safety policies at all times, including the safe handling of heavy components and equipment.
Experience
* Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent).
* Previous experience working on HGVs.
* Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Full UK driving licence (HGV licence advantageous but not essential).
