How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Pipefitter (Commercial Heating / Site Projects)

    Location: West Mids

    Position: Freelance / Contract

    Duration: 12 months (ongoing)

    The Role

    We are seeking experienced, reliable Pipefitters to work on a variety of long-term commercial heating projects in and around the West Midlands. This is a role for dedicated professionals who can work independently, maintain a high work rate, and take genuine pride in the quality of their installations.

    Primary Responsibilities

    * Commercial Heating Systems: Installation and modification of commercial heating infrastructure, including plant room pipework, distribution loops, and heat emitters.

    * LST Radiator Installation: Full installation of Low Surface Temperature (LST) radiator units and associated protective covers.

    * Pipework: Working with threaded and screwed steel tube up to 32mm.

    * System Completion: Carrying out full system fill, venting, and pressure testing to ensure complete system integrity.

    * Site Standards: Maintaining a productive pace while adhering strictly to site safety, schematic drawings, and quality standards.

    Requirements

    * Technical Skill: Proven experience in commercial heating installations and pipefitting, specifically with steel threading, plant room systems, and LST installations.

    * Work Ethic: A proactive approach to site work. We need individuals who are self-motivated and focused on delivering clean, high-quality results.

    * Tools and PPE: Must possess a full kit of standard pipefitting tools (including threading equipment appropriate for the scale) and all necessary PPE.

    * Compliance: A valid CSCS card (Blue or Gold preferred) and a relevant NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Mechanical Engineering or Pipefitting.

    Project Outlook

    This is an ongoing contract for fitters who demonstrate consistent reliability and high standards of workmanship. While the initial phase serves as a trial period, the project secures a full year of consistent work for those who meet our site requirements
