How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

High Voltage Field Test Technician — UK (Remote + Site Travel)
Are you a High Voltage testing specialist who enjoys being out on client sites as much as getting the technical analysis right? This is a chance to work at the sharp end of HV and EHV cable system commissioning, with the flexibility of a home base between site visits.
We're hiring a High Voltage Field Test Technician to carry out commissioning and maintenance testing on High Voltage (HV) and Extra High Voltage (EHV) AC and DC cable systems, in line with industry and international testing standards.
    What you'll be doing

Commissioning and maintenance testing on HV and EHV AC and DC cable systems, to industry and international standards
Field testing and diagnosis of HV cable systems on client sites
Developing and implementing new HV testing and diagnostic techniques
Technical analysis of Partial Discharge (PD) data for OFFLINE commissioning and maintenance testing
Technical analysis of PD data for ONLINE diagnosis using specialist analysis tools
Compiling technical test reports, including recommendations drawn from your analysis How the role works
This is a UK-based role with a mix of on-site and remote working. You'll travel to client sites across the UK (with some European travel possible), and spend your remaining time working from home — writing up test reports and planning upcoming site visits alongside your colleagues.
    What we're looking for

Ideally an Electrical Engineering Diploma, Degree, or similar qualification
A solid understanding of High Voltage testing
    A full driving licence
Willingness and ability to travel to sites If HV cable testing is your field and you like the balance of hands-on site work with the freedom of a remote base, we'd like to hear from you
    Salary description

    £50000.00 - £60000.00 per year
