How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Are you a Project Engineer with a background in ICA, MEICA, controls, PLCs, instrumentation, or commissioning within the water, wastewater, utilities, process, or oil and gas industry?

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing specialist engineering consultancy delivering clean and wastewater projects across the Thames Water framework. The company is looking for a technically strong Project Engineer who can take ownership of ICA and MEICA project delivery from design review through to installation, commissioning, handover, and completion.

This is not a purely office-based project management role. The successful candidate will understand how ICA systems function, how design standards are implemented, and how to manage the technical delivery of projects on site. You will work closely with clients, contractors, construction teams, and water operations teams to ensure systems are installed, commissioned, tested, and handed over correctly.

You will be responsible for managing the project engineering process from start to finish, including reviewing designs and drawings, developing commissioning plans and procedures, coordinating site activities, supporting fault finding, and ensuring PLCs, control panels, communication systems, and instrumentation operate in line with the project specification.

This role would suit an ICA Project Engineer, Commissioning Engineer, MEICA Project Engineer, Controls Engineer, or Electrical / Instrumentation Engineer with experience delivering projects in the water industry. Candidates from oil and gas, utilities, process engineering, or industrial environments will also be considered, provided they have strong ICA project engineering experience.

    The Role:

Manage ICA / MEICA project engineering from design review through to installation, commissioning, handover, and completion
Develop and review commissioning plans, procedures, checklists, technical documentation, drawings, and design specifications
Coordinate contractors, site teams, clients, and water operations teams to plan works, outages, commissioning activities, and project deliverables
Support fault finding and configuration of ICA systems, including PLCs, local control panels, instrumentation, and communication systemsThe Person:

Project Engineer, ICA Engineer, Commissioning Engineer, MEICA Engineer, Controls Engineer, or Electrical / Instrumentation Engineer
Experience delivering ICA, MEICA, controls, PLC, instrumentation, or commissioning projects within water, wastewater, utilities, oil and gas, or process industries
Able to understand design standards, technical drawings, specifications, and how ICA systems are implemented and commissioned on site
Full clean driving licence and willing to travel to various project sites, commutable to Chelmsford.Reference: BBBH25119C
Keywords: Project, Engineer, Manufacturing, Design, Installations, Energy, Water, Commissioning, ICA, Documentation, Lifecycle, South West, Chelmsford
