We are working with a leading organisation within the data centre sector that is seeking an accomplished MEP Project Manager to support the successful delivery of large-scale hyperscale and colocation facilities across multiple European locations. About the Opportunity:
As MEP Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of mechanical, electrical and public health packages throughout the project lifecycle, from pre-construction and procurement through to commissioning, testing and final handover.
Working closely with contractors, consultants, specialist suppliers and client stakeholders, you will play a key role in ensuring critical systems are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest technical standards.
MEP Project Manager - Roles and Responsibilities:
* Lead the delivery of MEP packages on complex data centre developments across Europe.
* Manage mechanical, electrical, BMS, fire protection and specialist systems contractors.
* Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams and drive collaboration across all stakeholders.
* Monitor project performance against programme, budget, quality and safety objectives.
* Review technical documentation and ensure designs are coordinated prior to installation.
* Oversee commissioning activities, integrated systems testing and project handover processes.
* Identify and manage project risks, implementing effective mitigation strategies.
* Chair coordination meetings and provide clear reporting to senior stakeholders.
* Ensure compliance with relevant European standards, regulations and health & safety requirements.
* Support commercial management activities including change control and scope management.
Your Skills and Experience:
* A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
* Proven experience managing MEP packages on large-scale construction or mission-critical projects.
* Previous data centre experience, ideally within hyperscale or colocation environments.
* Strong understanding of critical infrastructure systems including power distribution, cooling systems, backup power solutions, fire protection and building management systems.
* Experience managing contractors and subcontractors throughout delivery and commissioning phases.
* Knowledge of European construction practices and project delivery frameworks.
* Strong commercial awareness and programme management capability.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Experience using project planning and reporting tools such as Primavera P6 or MS Project.
