How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Contract: Full-time, temporary, long-term
    Start Date: 1 September 2026
    Phase: Primary – KS1/KS2
Salary is dependent on experience and qualifications. Higher rates are available for candidates with extensive SEN experience and relevant training. Pay is determined in line with Agency Worker Regulations (AWR), where applicable.

Teach Now is seeking a committed and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEMH and ADHD in a welcoming primary setting in Greenwich. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a calm, patient and proactive approach who is passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning.
The school offers a nurturing environment, strong pastoral support and a collaborative staff team who work closely together to ensure every child feels valued, understood and able to succeed. You will be joining a setting where inclusion is at the heart of the school community and where staff are supported to develop their SEN practice.

    The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide targeted support to pupils across KS1 and KS2, helping them engage positively with learning, routines and social interactions. You will work closely with class teachers, the SENCO and wider support staff to deliver tailored strategies that promote emotional regulation, confidence and progress.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with SEMH and ADHD.
    • Help pupils access learning through adapted activities and structured support.
    • Support positive behaviour strategies in line with individual support plans.
    • Encourage emotional regulation, independence and positive relationships.
    • Work closely with teachers, the SENCO and external professionals where required.
    • Monitor pupil progress and contribute to feedback, observations and review meetings.
    • Create a safe, consistent and encouraging learning environment.

    Requirements
    • Previous experience supporting children with SEMH, ADHD or additional needs.
    • Experience in a primary school or similar child-focused setting.
    • A strong understanding of behaviour support and de-escalation strategies.
    • A calm, reliable and flexible approach.
    • Good communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
    • Relevant qualifications are desirable, such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, childcare qualification, psychology degree or related training.
    • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.

    Benefits
    • Long-term, full-time role with consistency and routine.
    • Supportive school leadership and an experienced SEN team.
    • Opportunity to build specialist SEMH and ADHD experience.
    • Friendly Greenwich primary school with an inclusive ethos.
    • Competitive daily rate of £92.56 – £105.
    • Ongoing support from Teach Now throughout your placement.
    • This role would suit an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant, Behaviour Mentor, Learning Support Assistant or graduate with strong SEN experience who is ready to make a meaningful impact.
