How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Document Controller

    Summary We’re seeking an experienced Document Controller to join an engineering project team based on-site in Blyth. This role is ideal for someone organised, detail-oriented, and confident in handling documentation throughout a project lifecycle. You’ll play a key part in ensuring compliance, accurate record-keeping, and smooth information flow across the project.

    Responsibilities
    Maintain and update project document control systems and registers
    Record, track, distribute, and archive project documentation accurately
    Manage the flow of correspondence, drawings, specifications, and reports
    Ensure correct document revision control and remove obsolete documents from circulation
    Distribute new engineering and construction drawings to relevant stakeholders
    Support project teams by retrieving documents and preparing reports
    Assist with handover documentation and completion packs
    Oversee site records, inductions, and administrative requirementsRequirements
    GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths
    Proven experience as a Document Controller, Project Administrator, or Technical Administrator
    Background in construction, engineering, manufacturing, oil & gas, renewables, or industrial projects
    Competence with electronic document management systems (EDMS)
    Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and time management
    Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
    Understanding of document numbering systems, revision control, and workflows
    Qualification in Business Administration, Document Control, or a related field
