How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Maths Teacher – Secondary

    Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire
    September Start | MPS / UPS

    Supply Desk is working alongside a respected and supportive secondary school in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, who are seeking an enthusiastic Maths Teacher to join their team from September.

    This role is well suited to a Maths specialist who is passionate about building confidence, resilience, and strong problem-solving skills in young people.

    About the Role

    You will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective Maths lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, supporting students in developing both fluency and reasoning while working towards strong GCSE outcomes.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    Teaching Mathematics across KS3 and KS4 (GCSE)
    Planning well-structured lessons that stretch and support learners
    Developing pupils’ problem-solving and numeracy skills
    Monitoring progress and providing clear, constructive feedback
    Adapting teaching approaches to meet a range of abilities
    Supporting exam preparation and assessment readiness
    Maintaining high standards of behaviour and engagement
    Working collaboratively within the Maths department
    Communicating effectively with parents, carers, and pastoral staff

    Who We’re Looking For

    We welcome applications from Maths teachers who can demonstrate:

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
    Experience teaching Maths at secondary level
    ECTs encouraged to apply with relevant placements
    Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for Mathematics
    Confident classroom and behaviour management skills
    An organised, adaptable, and proactive teaching style
    Availability to start in September
    Ability to commute to Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire
