How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Role:

This is a permanent, factory-based maintenance engineering position with a strong emphasis on electrical and mechanical fault finding, preventative maintenance and breakdown response across the production facility.

You will be responsible for ensuring production equipment is maintained to the highest possible standard, helping to maximise uptime and support continuous manufacturing operations.

The role combines planned maintenance, reactive repairs and continuous improvement activities across a modern chilled food manufacturing environment.

    Shift Pattern:

    Monday - Friday

    Key Responsibilities:

Respond to electrical and mechanical breakdowns across production equipment
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to maximise equipment reliability
Diagnose faults quickly using structured troubleshooting techniques
Repair and maintain production machinery and associated factory assets
Support production by minimising downtime and ensuring equipment availability
Liaise closely with the Engineering Supervisor and Engineering Manager on maintenance priorities
Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete all relevant documentation
Promote high standards of housekeeping, safety and engineering best practice
Engage with production and site teams to communicate equipment issues effectively
Provide engineering support during periods of increased production where required
Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment performance and reliability
Cover engineering colleagues where required and support wider engineering activities
Carry out additional maintenance duties as required by the business

    About You:

This role would suit a proactive engineer who enjoys working independently while remaining a strong team player within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

    You will ideally have:

Previous experience as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer within food manufacturing, FMCG or a similar production environment
Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills

A proactive approach with a strong focus on continuous improvement
The ability to work independently on a permanent night shift
High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
A positive, reliable and self-motivated attitude

    Qualifications:

One or more of the following (or equivalent):
