How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

SHEQ Manager – Telecoms / Utilities

Are you an experienced SHEQ professional ready to lead and influence Health, Safety, Environment and Quality across a growing organisation?

We're looking for a proactive and strategic SHEQ Manager to lead our SHEQ function, driving continuous improvement, ensuring compliance, and embedding a positive safety culture throughout the business.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced manager who enjoys working collaboratively with operational teams and senior leadership to deliver practical solutions, improve performance, and create lasting cultural change.

    The Role

As SHEQ Manager, you'll be responsible for developing, implementing and continuously improving the company's Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality strategy. You'll provide leadership across the business, ensuring compliance with legislation, industry standards and company policies while promoting best practice at every level.

Working closely with operational managers and directors, you'll drive performance, manage risk, support business growth and ensure SHEQ remains at the heart of everything we do.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Lead and promote a positive SHEQ culture across the business.

    * Develop and implement SHEQ strategies, policies and management systems.

    * Ensure compliance with all relevant Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality legislation.

    * Lead investigations into incidents, identifying root causes and implementing effective corrective actions.

    * Oversee company audits, inspections and compliance programmes.

    * Monitor SHEQ performance, analyse trends and report KPIs to senior leadership.

    * Drive continuous improvement initiatives across safety, quality and environmental performance.

    * Promote environmental sustainability, including carbon reduction and waste management initiatives.

    * Support operational teams by providing practical advice, coaching and leadership.

    * Manage risk assessments and ensure effective control measures are implemented.

    * Maintain and improve ISO management systems, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.

    * Develop and deliver SHEQ training and awareness programmes.

    * Build strong relationships with clients, regulatory bodies and external stakeholders.

    About You

You'll be an experienced SHEQ professional with a proven track record of leading Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality functions within telecoms, utilities or another infrastructure-focused industry.

You'll be confident influencing stakeholders at all levels, from frontline operatives through to senior leadership, and passionate about creating a culture where safety, quality and environmental responsibility are embedded in everyday operations.

    Essential Requirements

    * NEBOSH General Certificate or NEBOSH Construction Certificate.

    * CertIOSH membership, with Chartered IOSH (CMIOSH) preferred or actively working towards.

    * A minimum of seven years' post-qualification SHEQ experience.

    * Previous management experience within telecoms, utilities or a similar operational environment.

    * Strong working knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and environmental regulations.

    * Experience managing ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.

    * Demonstrable experience leading audits, investigations and continuous improvement programmes.

    * Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.

    * Full UK Driving Licence.

    Why Join Us?

This is a fantastic opportunity to shape the future of SHEQ within a growing business where your expertise will have a genuine impact. You'll play a key leadership role, influencing business strategy, improving operational performance, and helping create a safer, more sustainable organisation.

If you're an experienced SHEQ leader looking for your next challenge, we'd love to hear from you
