How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Holmes Chapel | Full-Time | Long-Term Maternity Cover
    Pay: £95 – £100 per day (DOE)
    Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm | Weekly Pay Available

    Astro Education is delighted to be working on behalf of a warm and welcoming village primary school in Holmes Chapel that is seeking a dedicated and nurturing EYFS Teaching Assistant to join their team from September to support a maternity cover role.

Staff work closely together as a team, creating a positive and collaborative atmosphere throughout the school.

    The Role

    As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will:

    * Support the class teacher in delivering engaging EYFS provision

    * Work with individuals and small groups to support early development

    * Assist with play-based learning activities and continuous provision

    * Help create a nurturing and stimulating learning environment

    * Support children’s social, emotional, and academic development

    * Contribute positively to the wider school community

    Requirements

    * Experience working within EYFS (Nursery or Reception preferred)

    * Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable)

    * A caring, patient, and proactive approach

    * Strong communication and teamwork skills

    * Understanding of early years development and safeguarding

    * Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
