How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Flexzo Teach | Creative & Art Mentor (Alternative Provision)

We connect passionate Art Mentors with local educational provisions dedicated to high-quality, personalized support. Register today to join the local talent pool for an established, innovative alternative provision based in Didcot, Oxfordshire.

This setting supports young people aged 11–16 (primarily Years 9–11) who thrive outside of mainstream education. Many learners access this provision on reduced timetables due to Autism (ASC), ADHD, and complex social-emotional needs. If you are an adaptable, approachable creative who values relationship-building over rigid processes, this supportive environment offers the perfect space to re-engage students through interest-led projects like creative arts, digital media, photography, podcasting, and drone technology.

    Why Join Flexzo Teach?

    • Complete control over your schedule and availability.
    • Establish your own daily or hourly rates with full transparency.
    • Say goodbye to agency middlemen and payroll deductions; connect directly with alternative provisions.
    • Use your creative talents to build confidence, nurture individual strengths, and support young people who benefit from specialized, non-traditional care.

    What We Are Looking For

We are seeking a Creative & Art Mentor who possesses a genuine passion for supporting young people with SEND. For this role, your personality, artistic background, and ability to build trusting relationships are considered just as vital as formal teaching credentials.

    Core Requirements:

    • A strong background in the creative arts, digital media, photography, podcasting, or design.
    • Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with disengaged or vulnerable youth.
    • Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and an enthusiastic, proactive personality.
    • A patient, resilient, and highly adaptable approach to mentoring and emotional regulation.
    • Confidence working with students displaying a range of additional needs (specifically Autism and ADHD).
    • A valid right to work in the UK and an Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

    Desired Experience & Skills:

    • Experience working within an alternative provision, youth work, or a pastoral support background.
    • Experience delivering personalized, interest-led learning programmes or creative workshops.
    • An understanding of trauma-informed and relationship-led approaches.
    • Experience supporting students working towards Functional Skills or GCSEs is advantageous.
    • A teaching qualification (PGCE/QTS) is a plus but not essential for mentoring roles.

    How It Works

Once your application is received, the provision in the Didcot area can review your profile directly for upcoming term starts, flexible shift placements, or interviews.
