How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Junior Yacht Exterior Designer

RWD is searching for an outstanding Junior Exterior Designer to join our award-winning yacht design studio.

Bringing passion, enthusiasm and a strong creative foundation, our Junior Designers support project teams across the studio. This is an exciting entry-level role at RWD, where, under the guidance of our senior designers, you'll have the opportunity to contribute, grow and immerse yourself in the world of exceptional yacht design.

Assisting across all stages of the design process – from creative 2D and 3D work to CAD and visualisation – you'll bring a solid design foundation, a willingness to learn, and a natural dedication to excellence. A keen eye for detail is essential, as is an openness to feedback and a collaborative, positive attitude. In return, you'll be part of a supportive studio culture that invests in your development, giving you room to build your skills and shape your career in design.

HOW YOU'LL HELP SHAPE OUR PROJECTS

    • Support the design team across all stages of the design process, contributing to a wide range of projects and deliverables
    • Communicate initial design ideas and concepts through hand sketches and other visual techniques
    • Develop designs in 2D AutoCAD, supporting technical development and producing accurate drawings
    • Use Photoshop to develop and communicate design intent, including painted exterior profile development, visual manipulations, and colour general arrangements (GAs)
    • Create and refine detailed 3D Rhino models to support the design process and produce high-quality visualisations
    • Assist in preparing and delivering professional client presentations, ensuring design concepts are communicated clearly and effectively
    • Manage your workload and priorities to meet project deadlines, keeping the team updated on progress throughout
    • Show initiative and self-motivation by staying current with industry trends, emerging technologies and relevant software developments

    THE SKILLS YOU’LL BRING

    • Graduate or Master's level degree, preferably in Yacht, Automotive or Product design
    • 1 year of experience is desirable
    • Good understanding of form and surface treatment
    • Working knowledge of key design tools: AutoCAD, Rhino, Photoshop, InDesign, hand sketching, KeyShot, or other visualisation software
    • An adaptable, collaborative approach
    • Passionate designer with a strong appetite to learn
    • Eligible to work in the UK

    BENEFITS & FLEXIBILITY

    • Hybrid working with core hours
    • 25 days’ holiday as well as bank holidays, plus studio closure over Christmas
    • Fully subsidised private health insurance and dental
    • Life insurance
    • Annual salary review

Applications require a CV and a strong portfolio to demonstrate your experience. Please attach them as one document.
