Yard Operative / Vehicle Banksman

Our client based in Keighley, West Yorkshire is looking to recruit a Yard Operative / Vehicle Banksman for an immediate start.

Job Purpose

To support the safe and efficient running of the yard, including vehicle movements, banksman duties, housekeeping, loading/unloading support and general yard activities.

Key Duties

* Act as a trained vehicle banksman for HGVs, vans, cars and delivery vehicles.

* Safely guide vehicles during reversing, maneuvering, loading and unloading activities.

* Ensure drivers follow site traffic rules, speed limits, parking controls and designated routes.

* Keep the yard clean, tidy and free from obstructions.

* Keep walkways, loading areas, fire exits and access routes clear at all times.

* Support loading, unloading and movement of materials, pallets, stillages and equipment.

* Assist with waste areas, skips and general yard organisation.

Skills and Requirements

* Vehicle banksman training, or willingness to complete training before carrying out banksman duties.

* Good awareness of workplace transport risks and pedestrian safety.

* Confident communicator with drivers, FLT operators and site teams.

* Able to work outdoors and carry out practical yard duties.

* Reliable, proactive and safety focused.

* FLT experience is desirable but not essential

Hours: Day Shift: 08.30am – 5pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am – 3pm Friday = 38 hours per week

Rate of Pay dependent on experience.
