How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Long-Term Cover Supervisor

    Location: Rotherham
    Start Date: September 2026
    Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term
    Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

    Long-Term Cover Supervisor - Secondary School - Rotherham

    Are you confident, adaptable, and passionate about supporting young people in their education? We are seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor to join a welcoming secondary school in Rotherham on a full-time, long-term basis from September.

    This is an excellent opportunity for graduates considering a career in teaching, experienced Cover Supervisors, or individuals with experience working with young people in an educational or youth setting.

    The Role

    As a Cover Supervisor, you will:

    Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the classroom teacher.
    Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment.
    Ensure students remain engaged and complete the work set.
    Support students across a range of subjects and year groups.
    Follow the school's behaviour and safeguarding policies at all times.
    Provide feedback to teaching staff on student progress and classroom engagement.

    The Ideal Candidate Will:

    Have experience working with secondary-aged students (school-based experience is desirable but not essential).
    Be confident managing classroom behaviour.
    Possess excellent communication and organisational skills.
    Be flexible, reliable, and able to adapt to different subjects and classrooms.
    Hold a positive, proactive attitude and a genuine interest in education.
    Have an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.
