How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Financial Controller
    Stockton-on-Tees

    About Us

We make delivering award-winning landscapes straightforward.

The landscape gives a development its first impression. It’s the final, finishing touch that makes all the difference. Yet the landscape package is known for its complexity, with lots of elements to balance and consider; each carrying programme and cost pressure.

We understand how complex and technically challenging it can be to create a landscape that is functional as well as beautiful. However, with the right systems, approach and support, the landscape can be a straightforward part of the project. If you get the planters, edging and seating right, the rest of the landscape follows.

As a specialist manufacturer, our approach centres around rigorous efficiency, collaboration and smart design. We will help you design the right solution, clarify it, and deliver it with confidence.

Your landscape can and should be beautiful by design and straightforward by Logic.

We are now looking for a Financial Controller to join us on a full-time, permanent basis, working 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday.

    Your Rewards

    - Salary of up to £85,000 DOE
    - 23 days' holiday, plus bank holidays, increasing to 24 days after a successful 12 months of employment
    - Discretionary quarterly profit-sharing bonus
    - Lunch provisions provided

This is a brilliant opportunity for a commercially minded Financial Controller or Finance Manager with strong management accounting capability and a sharp controls mindset to join our growing organisation.

You’ll have the chance to shape our finance and ensure our business continues to succeed, grow and develop. Through your sharp instincts and expertise, we will increase our market share and become a key chapter in your impressive portfolio of experience.

What’s more, you’ll discover an exceptional range of benefits and rewards, such as quarterly profit-sharing bonuses and plenty of autonomy to ensure you can work in the manner that suits you best.

So, if you’re ready to bring clarity, control and forward-looking insight to a growing SME, read on and apply today.

    The Role

As our Financial Controller, you will lead our financial activities, ensuring that we can be confident our growth and decisions are supported by a solid financial base.

Specifically, you will oversee reporting, forecasting and controls, deliver month-end process, accurate and forward-looking management accounts, and strong forecasting across profit and loss, cash flow and the balance sheet.

Taking ownership of forecasting across the business, you will ensure that our commercial activities and pipeline are focused on, and linked to, financial results to support the ongoing financial health of the company.

You will also improve project costing, work-in-progress visibility and cash forecasting, ensuring finance provides meaningful insight beyond historical reporting.

    Additionally, you will:

    - Strengthen financial controls, reconciliations, audit trails and VAT/HMRC compliance
    - Improve invoicing, query resolution and collections processes
    - Work with operations to identify margin movements and reduce project cost leakage
    - Co-ordinate the activities of the bookkeeper, accounting firm and internal stakeholders
    - Support system and process improvements

    About You

To be considered as our Financial Controller, you will need:

    - Proven experience in a Financial Controller and/or Finance Manager role in an SME environment
    - Strong management accounting capability
    - Hands-on experience maintaining accurate reconciliations, balance sheet integrity, VAT/HMRC compliance and clear audit trails
    - Previous experience or knowledge of Enapps accounting software or similar
    - Advanced Excel capability for reconciliations, modelling, forecasting and analysis
    - The ability to explain finance to non-finance colleagues and challenge constructively

Other organisations may call this role Finance Director, Head of Finance, Finance Manager, FC, FD, Finance Business Partner, or Finance BP.

Webrecruit, Be More Effective, and Logic Manufactured Bespoke are equal opportunities employers, value diversity and are strongly committed to providing equal employment opportunities for all employees and all applicants for employment. Equal opportunities are the only acceptable way to conduct business and we believe that the more inclusive our environments are, the better our work will be.

So, if you’re ready to bring your financial expertise to a role with real influence as a Financial Controller, please apply via the button shown. This vacancy is being advertised by Webrecruit. The services advertised by Webrecruit are those of an Employment Agency.
