Senior Highways Engineer

Our client, a key player in the highways sector, is currently seeking a Senior Highways Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. This role involves working on complex highway designs, including junctions, roundabouts, bus lanes, and cycle paths.

Key Responsibilities:

Developing detailed designs for highways, including junctions, roundabouts, bus lanes, and cycle paths
Utilising AutoCAD 2D for design and drafting tasks
Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects
Conducting site visits and assessments to inform design decisions
Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards
Preparing technical reports and documentation
Supervising and mentoring junior engineers
Working three days a week in the office as part of a hybrid working arrangement

Job Requirements:

Extensive experience in highways engineering and design
Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D
Strong understanding of highway design principles and standards
Experience with designing junctions, roundabouts, bus lanes, and cycle paths
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Understanding of IR35 regulations
Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification
