How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Our client, a well-established engineering and manufacturing business based in Evesham, is seeking a Purchasing Assistant to join their Purchasing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with purchasing, procurement, logistics or supply chain experience who is looking to develop their career within a busy and supportive manufacturing environment.

Working closely with the Purchasing team, you will play an important role in ensuring the timely procurement of goods and services, maintaining supplier relationships and supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the purchasing function.

Key Responsibilities of a Purchasing Assistant:

Raise and process purchase orders for both direct and indirect goods, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
Manage indirect procurement, including office supplies, PPE, ICT equipment, software licences and general consumables.
Monitor supplier performance by chasing order acknowledgements, tracking deliveries and resolving routine supplier queries.
Maintain accurate supplier records, purchasing documentation and ERP (Microsoft Dynamics 365) data.
Support stock investigations, purchasing administration and KPI reporting.
Identify opportunities to improve purchasing processes and provide general support to the wider Purchasing team.
    About the successful Purchasing Assistant:

Previous experience within purchasing, procurement, logistics, supply chain or a similar administrative role.
Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, with experience using an ERP system (Dynamics 365 would be advantageous).
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
A high level of accuracy, attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
Experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment would be beneficial but is not essential.
What's on Offer for the successful Purchasing Assistant?

Salary of £26,000 - £29,000 per annum, depending on experience.
Full-time, permanent position with an established and growing manufacturing business.
Opportunities for training, development and career progression.
Supportive team environment and varied day-to-day responsibilities.
Competitive holiday allowance and company benefits package.
If you're an organised and motivated Purchasing Assistant or Supply Chain professional looking for your next challenge, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today to be considered for this fantastic opportunity.
