How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    CNC Turner (Programmer/Setter/Operator)

    Location: Dunstable
    Salary: £42,500
    Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent

    The Company

    Your Recruitment Coach is working in partnership with a well-established precision engineering manufacturer based in Dunstable. Due to continued growth and increased customer demand, they are looking to add an experienced CNC Turner to their skilled manufacturing team.

    This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working within a high-precision environment where quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement are key.

    The Role

    As a CNC Turner, you will be responsible for programming (offline using CAD/CAM), setting, and operating CNC turning machinery to produce high-quality precision components. You'll play a key role in ensuring products meet customer specifications while maintaining quality standards and achieving production deadlines.

    Key Responsibilities

    *

    Program CNC turning machines offline using CAD/CAM software.

    *

    Set and operate CNC turning machinery.

    *

    Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.

    *

    Produce components to the highest quality standards.

    *

    Ensure internal production milestones and customer delivery dates are consistently met.

    *

    Identify and resolve machining issues to minimise downtime.

    *

    Work closely with the production team to improve efficiency and maintain workflow.

    *

    Maintain a safe, organised, and clean working environment.

    About You

    To be successful in this role, you will have:

    *

    Extensive experience programming, setting, and operating CNC turning machinery.

    *

    Strong CAD/CAM programming experience (essential).

    *

    The ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings.

    *

    Excellent problem-solving and fault-finding abilities.

    *

    Strong communication and organisational skills.

    *

    A proactive, forward-thinking approach to your work.

    *

    The ability to work effectively as part of a team.

    *

    Experience using a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) would be advantageous but is not essential.
