How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off (12-hour shifts) with an excellent work-life balance, including 2 consecutive weeks off every 8 weeks.

    The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Engineer to join a growing industrial manufacturing business at its Wretham site.

This is a hands-on role supporting the maintenance and reliability of a busy production facility, ensuring equipment and plant remain safe, efficient and operational. Working closely with production teams and site management, you'll take ownership of planned and reactive maintenance while driving continuous improvement across the site.

The business is continuing to invest in its operations, with plans to expand and open additional sites before the end of the year. As the company grows, there will be opportunities to support other UK locations, offering variety and long-term career development.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in line with maintenance schedules.

    * Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults.

    * Respond quickly to plant breakdowns, minimising downtime and maintaining production.

    * Develop and improve maintenance plans and preventative maintenance strategies.

    * Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.

    * Manage site spare parts, ensuring critical stock is available and supplier relationships are maintained.

    * Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop environment.

    * Assist production teams with routine maintenance activities and provide technical guidance where required.

    * Record maintenance activities accurately and ensure compliance with health, safety and quality standards.

    * Work independently as the site's maintenance engineer while collaborating with the wider operations team.

    * Provide occasional flexibility for call-outs or additional support when required.

    About You

We're looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer who enjoys working autonomously and taking ownership of site reliability.

    You'll ideally have:

    * A Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.

    * At least 5 years' experience within an industrial maintenance environment.

    * Strong mechanical fault-finding skills with experience of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

    * Basic electrical fault-finding and repair experience on low-voltage equipment.

    * Experience maintaining conveyors, processing equipment or heavy industrial machinery.

    * A proactive approach to preventative maintenance and continuous improvement.

    * Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.

    * Confidence working independently while building strong relationships across the site.

    * A flexible approach to supporting operational requirements.

    Desirable Experience

    * Experience within aggregates, recycling, waste processing, quarrying or similar heavy industrial environments.

    * Mobile plant operating certificates such as Counterbalance Forklift or Front End Loader.

    * Experience working within continuous manufacturing or 24/7 production environments.

    What's on Offer

    * Salary up to £50,300, dependent on experience + Annual pay reviews.

    * 4 on / 4 off shift pattern offering an excellent work-life balance.

    * 2 consecutive weeks off every 8 weeks.

    * Long-term career progression within a rapidly expanding business.

    * Opportunities to support and work across multiple UK sites as the company continues to grow.

    * A varied, hands-on engineering role with real ownership and autonomy
