How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Senior Project Manager – Civil Engineering

    We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Project Manager to join our growing civil engineering team based in Somerset. This is an excellent opportunity to lead the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of infrastructure and civil engineering projects across the region, working with a highly skilled team and a broad client base.

    The Role

    As a Senior Project Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the planning, execution, and successful delivery of multiple civil engineering projects. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, manage client relationships, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Lead the delivery of civil engineering and infrastructure projects from inception through to completion

    * Manage project programmes, budgets, resources, and risk registers

    * Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and stakeholders

    * Ensure projects are delivered in line with contractual, commercial, and technical requirements

    * Oversee project financial performance, including forecasting, reporting, and cost control

    * Lead and mentor Project Managers, Site Managers, and engineering teams

    * Drive health, safety, environmental, and quality performance across all projects

    * Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and operational efficiencies

    * Support tendering, pre-construction activities, and business development where required

    Requirements

    * Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager or Project Manager within the civil engineering sector

    * Strong background delivering projects such as highways, infrastructure, drainage, utilities, or public realm works

    * Excellent knowledge of NEC contracts (JCT experience beneficial)

    * Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)

    * Strong commercial awareness and financial management skills

    * Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities

    * Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively

    * Full UK driving licence
