How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Assistant Psychologist

    We are looking for a compassionate, enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Psychologist to join our growing therapeutic team. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside our Lead Psychologist, supporting children and young people living in our therapeutic residential homes.

    You will gain invaluable experience working with children who have experienced trauma, abuse, neglect, attachment disruption and other complex emotional needs, while helping embed psychologically informed practice across our services.

    This role would suit someone who is passionate about pursuing a career in Clinical, Counselling or Educational Psychology and is looking to gain high-quality experience within a specialist therapeutic environment.

    Location: East Midlands

    Job Type: Full-Time (40 hours per week)

    Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 (DOE)

    What We’re Looking For:

    A minimum of a 2:1 Degree in Psychology recognised by the British Psychological Society (BPS).
    Eligibility for Graduate Basis for Charted Membership (GBC) with the BPS.
    A genuine interest in working with children and young people who have experienced trauma.
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    Strong organisational and report writing abilities.
    Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
    Previous experience as an Assistant Psychologist, Support Worker, Residential Childcare Worker or within CAMHS, education or social care (desirable, but not essential).
    MSc Qualification in a Psychology field (desirable, but not essential).
    Experience working with looked-after children or young people with complex emotional or behavioural needs (desirable, but not essential).
    Knowledge of trauma-informed care, attachment theory and child development (desirable, but not essential).
    Experience of psychological assessments, research or therapeutic group work (desirable, but not essential).

    Requirements:

    Must have the right to work in the UK.
    Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
    Must be able to speak and understand English to a good standard for effective communication, record-keeping and safeguarding the wellbeing of those you will be supporting.
    A full Enhanced DBS Check will be required for the successful candidates.
    Please note – we do not currently hold a sponsorship licence and are therefore unable to offer visa sponsorship.

    What You’ll Be Doing

    Working under the supervision of a qualified Psychologist, you will support the delivery of Keyline Care’s therapeutic model through psychological assessment, formulation, consultation and intervention.

    You will work closely with children and young people, residential staff, Registered Managers and external professionals to ensure psychological thinking is embedded into everyday care.

    No two days will be the same, offering a varied and rewarding role across multiple residential homes.

    Support psychological assessments and gather relevant clinical information.
    Assist in developing psychological formulations and therapeutic care plans.
    Deliver individual sessions under the supervision of a qualified Psychologist.
    Help develop therapeutic resources, workbooks and intervention programmes.
    Assist with staff consultation, reflective practice and therapeutic discussions.
    Support the evaluation of therapeutic interventions and outcome measures.
    Attend multi-agency meetings where appropriate.
    Produce hight-quality clinical notes, reports and professional documentation.
    Assist with service evaluation, audit, research and quality improvement projects.
    Promote trauma-informed and attachment-informed approached across all services.
