How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Lead Fire Alarm Service Engineer
    Location: West London & Home Counties
    Salary: £42,000 - £45,000 per annum (Negotiable depending on experience)
    Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
    Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm
    Call Out: 1 in 7 rota
    About the Role
    We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing fire and security specialist for an experienced Lead Fire Alarm Service Engineer to join their service team covering West London and the surrounding Home Counties.
    This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer with strong fault-finding experience who is looking to take a lead role within a supportive and professional business. You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a wide range of fire alarm and AOV (Automatic Opening Vent) systems across commercial and public sector sites.
    Lead Fire Alarm Service Engineer Key Responsibilities
    * Carry out planned preventative maintenance on fire alarm systems.
    * Diagnose and repair faults efficiently across a variety of fire detection systems.
    * Service and maintain AOV systems.
    * Attend reactive call-outs and emergency breakdowns.
    * Complete all relevant service reports and documentation accurately.
    * Provide technical support and guidance where required.
    * Deliver excellent customer service whilst maintaining high industry standards.
    * Ensure all work is completed in line with current fire safety regulations and company procedures.
    Lead Fire Alarm Service Engineer Requirements
    * Proven experience servicing and fault finding on fire alarm systems.
    * Experience working on AOV systems is highly desirable.
    * Strong technical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
    * Good knowledge of current fire safety standards and regulations.
    * Full UK driving licence.
    * Excellent communication and customer service skills.
    * Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
    Package
    * Salary of £42,000 - £45,000 (depending on experience)
    * Company van
    * Monday to Friday working hours (8:00am – 4:30pm)
    * 1 in 7 call-out rota
    * Standby payment of £150 per week
    * Door-to-door pay for out-of-hours call-outs
    * 22 days annual leave, increasing to 25 days with length of service
