Operator role for TATA Steel in Lisburn

Hi,

Are you an experienced Process Operator? Do you consider yourself to be a team player? Are you based in or around Lisburn?
We have an initially temporary role available within TATA Steel’s Lisburn works. This role is ideal for someone with production line experience, overhead cranes and FLT experience and considers themselves to be punctual, reliable as well as proactive.

Role: Operator
Location: TATA Steel, Lissue Walk, Lisburn BT28 2SN
Rate: £25532 per annum. Hourly rate of £12.59ph
Overtime available at OT 1.5 (£18.89ph)
Contract length: 6 months initially
Shift Patterns: Days initially: 08:00-16:30. After initial training following alternating

shift patterns: 06:00-14:00 and the following week 14:00-22:00. (39 hours per week)
Start: ASAP but pending completion of medical assessment which includes a drug and alcohol test

Responsibilities:

* Operating processing machine and material handling equipment

* Packing material for despatch to customers

* Operating overhead crane and FLT (training provided)

* Facilitating prompt and accurate material selection and processing

* Understanding the relevant product ranges on offer

* Implementing maintenance activities to drive productivity

* Checking stock records, labelling and storage according to company policy

* Being actively involved in improvement initiatives, own personal development and contributing to the teams performance

* Adhering to the plants procedures and PPE instructions at all times

* Undertake safe operation of equipment and machines within the Engineering Shop, including basic maintenance

* Adhering to UK Health and Safety legislation at all times

Essential requirements:

* Driving licence and access to own vehicle

* Previous experience as a production operative or working on a process line in a heavy industrial environment

* FLT driving experience

* Experience operating overhead cranes

* Previous experience within a heavy industrial fabrication environment (advantage)

* Strong written and verbal communication skills

* Ability to adhere to both of the shift patterns

* Flexibility towards overtime

* Strong knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation

* Considers themself to be proactive, self-motivated and a team player
