How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Site Engineer to join one of Fawkes & Reece's clients, a leading house building construction company, on a long-term residential project near Bridgwater. This Site Engineer role offers a strong day rate, weekly pay, and the chance to work on a large-scale new housing development.

    About the role of Site Engineer
    As a Site Engineer, you will be supporting the delivery of groundworks on a new housing project, taking responsibility for setting out, quality assurance, and coordination of subcontractors on site. This is a long-term temporary role, expected to run for approximately 12-18 months, with an immediate start available.

    Responsibilities for Site Engineer
    * Carrying out accurate setting out using GPS, Total Station, and levelling equipment
    * Supervising subcontractors and ensuring works are delivered to programme
    * Interpreting and working from technical drawings and specifications
    * Maintaining quality control and keeping accurate site records

    Requirements for Site Engineer
    * 3+ years' experience working as a Site Engineer on groundworks and residential projects
    * Strong setting out experience with relevant surveying equipment
    * CSCS card and relevant engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree)
    * Good understanding of health & safety and site procedures
