How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Quantity Surveyor – Main Contractor (Housebuilding) – West Drayton

    Salary/Package: £65,000 – £75,000 + Travel/Car Allowance + Private Medical + Pension + Discretionary Bonus + Annual Leave

    O’Neill and Brennan are currently working with a leading main contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team, working on a portfolio of high-quality housebuilding developments based from their West Drayton office.

    This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and financially secure contractor with an expanding workload across London and the South East. The successful candidate will play a key role in the commercial delivery of residential developments, with the opportunity to take ownership of projects and progress into a lead commercial role as the business continues to grow.

    You will be joining a supportive and experienced commercial team with genuine long-term career prospects, offering the chance to develop into a Senior Quantity Surveyor and beyond.

    Role Overview

    Title: Quantity Surveyor

    Salary: £65,000 – £75,000 + Package

    Start: ASAP but can wait for the right person

    Responsibilities:

    Procuring and commercially managing subcontract packages from procurement through to final account
    Preparing subcontract enquiries, tender analysis, negotiations and recommendations for award
    Managing subcontractor payments, valuations, variations and final accounts
    Assisting with cost reporting, CVRs, forecasting and monthly commercial reporting
    Working closely with site management, design and technical teams to ensure successful project delivery
    Identifying commercial risks and opportunities whilst maintaining strong cost control throughout the project lifecycle
    Building and maintaining positive relationships with clients, consultants and the supply chain
    Taking increasing responsibility for the commercial delivery of projects, with the opportunity to lead schemes as you progress within the business
    Requirements

    Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within either a main contractor or housebuilding environment
    Previous exposure to housebuilding or residential developments
    Strong commercial awareness with excellent negotiation and communication skills
    Ambitious individual looking to grow with the business and progress into a project lead position
    Able and willing to commute to West Drayton
