How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job Title: SEN LSA
    Location: Tower Hamlets, London
    Start Date: Immediate Start
    Salary: £100 - £120 per day

Are you the kind of person who can bring calm to chaos, confidence to nervous learners and a smile to even the trickiest mornings?
Do you have the energy, patience and positivity to turn “I can’t do this” into “I did it!”?
Are you an experienced support assistant or enthusiastic graduate ready to jump into a role where every day is meaningful, busy and rewarding?
TeacherActive is proud to be working with a number of welcoming and inclusive schools across Tower Hamlets, London, who are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated SEN LSA staff to join their teams. These schools support pupils with a wide range of additional needs, including Autism / ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, communication difficulties, learning delays and social, emotional or behavioural needs.

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping children and young people feel supported, understood and excited to learn. The role would suit either an experienced candidate who has worked within SEN settings before, or a graduate who has strong transferable experience and a genuine interest in building a career within education.

As a SEN LSA, you will be supporting pupils both 1:1 and in small groups, helping them access learning, stay focused in lessons and build confidence in themselves. You will work closely with class teachers, SENCOs and wider support teams to create a safe, positive and nurturing environment where every pupil is encouraged to make progress at their own pace.

The successful SEN LSA will have:

Experience working with children or young people with SEN
Experience supporting pupils 1:1 or in small groups
A genuine passion for helping pupils overcome barriers to learning
Confidence supporting pupils with communication, social, emotional or behavioural needs
Previous experience within a school, nursery, care setting, youth work, tutoring, psychology, sports coaching or mentoring role would also be highly desirable.

In return for the above, you can expect to receive:

A dedicated team of consultants available to support you through the onboarding process
Guaranteed Payment Scheme Terms and Conditions apply
CPD courses and certificates as part of the My-Progression channel
    Market-leading rates of pay
TeacherActive Referral Scheme – Receive up to £100 when you refer a friend Terms and Conditions apply
Our staff are paid on a PAYE basis, so you can rest assured that you are paying the right level of Tax and National Insurance, with no admin charges coming out of your hard-earned cash.
