How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Mechanical CAD Engineer - Twickenham Area
    Up to £50,000 + Career Progression + Free Parking + Package

    We're working with a well-established and highly respected mechanical building services contractor to recruit an experienced Mechanical CAD Engineer to join their growing design team. With a strong pipeline of commercial projects and an excellent reputation within the industry, this is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a business that genuinely invests in its people and offers long-term career progression.

    Working alongside experienced Design Engineers and Project Managers, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality mechanical designs from concept through to completion. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys technical design, thrives in a collaborative environment, and wants to work on a varied portfolio of commercial building services projects.

    The role:

    As a Mechanical CAD Engineer, you'll support the delivery of mechanical building services designs across a range of commercial projects, producing accurate drawings, calculations, and technical documentation that help bring projects to life.

    Producing detailed 2D mechanical layout drawings using AutoCAD
    Carrying out heating and cooling load calculations using Hevacomp
    Completing ductwork and pipework pressure loss calculations
    Preparing technical submittals, schedules, and design documentation
    Coordinating designs with project teams to ensure smooth project delivery
    Supporting projects throughout the design, coordination, and construction phases
    Working on a variety of commercial projects, including CAT A and CAT B fit-outsWhat you'll need:

    Strong AutoCAD (2D) and Hevacomp experience, with the ability to hit the ground running
    A solid understanding of mechanical building services design principles
    Experience producing accurate technical drawings and design documentation
    Previous experience working on UK commercial building services projects
    Knowledge of CIBSE guidance and UK Building Regulations
    Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to project deliveryThe successful Mechanical CAD Engineer will receive up to £50,000, depending on experience, plus Free Parking + Ongoing Training + Career Progression + Package.
