About the Opportunity
Astro Education are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive Primary school in Crewe to recruit an SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team immediately.
This is a full time role for a year with the possibility of an extension into future years.
Our partner schools is committed to inclusive education, providing structured, nurturing environments where every child is supported to thrive. They are looking for an individual who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with SEN, including Communication and Language, Autism, SEMH and developmental needs.
This role would suit experienced Teaching Assistants, SEN practitioners or individuals with relevant transferable experience.
The Role
* Working as part of a school team, responsibilities may include:
* Supporting a child in Year 3 who has communication and language difficulties
* Helping to implement individual support plans and strategies
* Supporting emotional regulation, routines and transitions
* Creating a calm, safe and inclusive learning environment
* Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals
* Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils
What We’re Looking For
Experienced in supporting children with SEN (in schools or similar settings)
* Patient, resilient and nurturing in their approach
* Confident managing behaviour and supporting emotional needs
* Able to build positive relationships with children and staff
* Flexible, proactive and a strong team player
* Experience with Autism, SEMH or Early Years SEN would be highly desirable.
