How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Supply Teacher – Chelmsford & Surrounding Areas (Flexible Day-to-Day Cover)

    Gold Education Recruitment is currently working with a number of welcoming primary and secondary schools across Chelmsford and the surrounding areas, seeking enthusiastic and reliable Supply Teachers for day-to-day and short-term cover opportunities.

    This is a fantastic opportunity for qualified teachers looking for complete flexibility and variety in their work. Whether you're looking to work one day a week or five, returning to teaching after a break, or simply wanting to experience different school environments, we have opportunities to suit your availability and lifestyle.

    What You'll Be Doing:

    • Delivering pre-planned lessons across a variety of subjects and year groups
    • Providing day-to-day and short-term cover in a range of local primary and secondary schools
    • Maintaining a positive, engaging, and productive learning environment
    • Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
    • Supporting students to remain focused and engaged in their learning
    • Adapting quickly and confidently to different school settings and classroom environments
    • Providing feedback to schools on lesson outcomes where required

    What We're Looking For:

    • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
    • Experience teaching in a UK primary or secondary school
    • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
    • A flexible, reliable, and professional approach
    • Excellent communication and organisational skills
    • Ability to adapt confidently to different schools and teaching environments
    • ECTs and experienced teachers are welcome to apply
