How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Field Service Engineer (Fire/Security)

    Birmingham (UK Wide Patch)

    £45,000 - £50,000 (OTE £80,000 - £100,000) + Personal Van + Benefits Package + Door to Door Pay

    Are you a Field Service Engineer from a fire / security background, looking to step in to a lead position, where you can earn upwards of £100,000 a year using cutting edge equipment, allowing you to complete work in an efficient time frame?

    This role would suit an experienced Field Service Engineer based in Birmingham, who comes from a Fire/Security background ready to be the Lead Engineer for a team of 3 ambitious apprenticeship level engineers.

    In this role, you will be split between Sites & Office's which are based in the Midlands with regular travel to sites nationwide.

    This Role:

    Work across multiple disciplines including; Intruder Alarms, Fire Alarm Systems, Access control, CCTV systems
    Ensure compliance with current regulations and standards (e.g. BS 7671, BS 5839, NSI standards where applicable)
    Liaise With SSAIB for audits & inspections
    Lead Installations, commissioning, servicing and handover of security systemsThe Person:

    Full UK Driving License
    Good understanding of UK regulations and industry standards
