How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    DCL / GUI Script Developer

    + 3 month initial contract

    + Hybrid working fro Northampton

    + £40 to £50 per hour - Inside IR35

    Interactive DCL / GUI Script Developer
    Contract | Competitive Day Rate | Hybrid/Remote

    We're looking for an experienced Interactive DCL / GUI Script Developer to join a specialist technical team supporting and enhancing manufacturing systems. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong scripting, SQL, and troubleshooting skills who enjoys working with complex legacy environments.

    Key Responsibilities

    Develop, enhance, and support Interactive DCL and/or GUI scripts.
    Debug and maintain undocumented scripts and files.
    Write and optimise SQL queries.
    Create DataLink queries, sorts, and joins.
    Investigate issues and distinguish between Sector7 application bugs and inherent system limitations.
    Provide ongoing support for production-critical applications.

    Essential Skills

    Interactive DCL Developers

    Candidates should have experience with:

    Developing and supporting Interactive DCL scripts.
    PROMIS application support, including:
    Creating and moving lots.
    Changing equipment states.
    DataLink queries, sorts, and joins.
    Debugging undocumented DCL files.
    SQL.
    Understanding the difference between Sector7 bugs and inherent system limitations/failures.

    GUI Script Developers

    Candidates should have experience with:

    GUI script development and support.
    DataLink queries, sorts, and joins.
    Debugging undocumented files.
    SQL.
    Understanding the difference between Sector7 bugs and inherent system limitations/failures.Please note: GUI Script Developers are not required to have experience creating/moving lots or changing equipment states within PROMIS.

    Desirable

    Experience supporting semiconductor manufacturing environments.
    Familiarity with PROMIS and Sector7 systems.
    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    Ability to work independently and troubleshoot complex technical issues.If you have experience with either Interactive DCL or GUI scripting in a PROMIS/Sector7 environment and are looking for your next contract opportunity, we'd like to hear from you
