How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Developing the operation for growth and overseeing daily operations of a busy logistics department, ensuring efficient and effective transport and distribution services. This role requires a proactive individual with strong organisational skills to manage resources and meet operational goals.

    Our client; a leading transport and logistics provider across the UK is a well established business specialising in national haulage and warehousing distribution and bespoke supply chain contracts. They manage integrated haulage and warehousing through multiple key hubs for a range of clients utilising a modern IT system and own fleet.

    Description

    To focus on further business growth a Depot Manager is now required for the site in Lanarkshire to both manage the daily operations of the depot, and maximise the site potential through maximising client opportunities.

    Supervise and coordinate transport and distribution activities to meet customer expectations.
    Ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
    Monitor performance metrics and identify areas for improvement in logistics processes.
    Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations across all depot activities.
    Collaborate with internal teams to optimise resource allocation and cost efficiency.
    Lead and motivate depot staff to achieve operational goals and maintain high service standards.
    Prepare and present operational reports to senior management as required.
    Address and resolve any operational challenges in a timely manner.Profile

    A successful Depot Manager should have:

    Proven experience in transport and distribution operations management in a General Haulage Business.
    Strong client engagement skills and the ability to impact operational performance.
