How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are recruiting a great opportunity for an Operations Support Engineer to join an established manufacturing company within the Barton Under Needwood area.

    You will provide Operational Engineering Support as required with the main focus on improving the core operational delivery through structured process improvement.

    Role - Operations Support Engineer
    Location - Barton Under Needwood
    Salary - £38-42K
    Hours - 7.30am-4.00pm Monday to Thursday, 7.30am-12.30pm Friday

    Role & Responsibilities:

    Supporting audit and compliance to safety and quality management systems
    Delivery of Work Instructions for all operational activities
    Root cause analysis and process improvement
    Facilitation for improvement in production planning and materials availability
    Resolution of engineering issues
    Supporting new product development process
    Helping to deliver Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement
    Development of product matrix around time, effort and costs
    Facilitation of improved scrap level
    Skills and Experience:

    HNC/ HND Degree educated or equivalent is essential in Electrical / Electronic/ Software/ Mechanical Engineering
    Engineering experience within a manufacturing environment
    Ability to extract raw data, analyse and generate insight
    Experience with QMS and Specifically Change Management and Non- Conformance Processes and Procedures
    Relentless attitude to Health & Safety
    Process driven with MRP/ERP being a natural part of thinking
    Proven, proactive and positive hands-on approach, leading and delivering
    Continuous Improvement and LEAN through a wider team
    A communicator, motivator with a “can do, will do” attitude
    Strong IT for data analysis
    Project Management capability
