The client:
A unique opportunity has arisen with a leading global insurance and reinsurance firm for a regulatory lawyer with an insurance sector coverage or commercial lawyer with regulatory experience.
This individual will become a crucial member of the legal team, advising senior stakeholders across the business globally.
Key responsibilities
Working as part of the global legal department advising senior stakeholders on range of matters.
- Provide expert legal advice on UK and EU regulatory matters affecting the insurance industry, including FCA/PRA rules and Lloyd’s regulations.
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating general commercial contract and insurance specific contracts
- Supporting the business with corporate, governance, data privacy, complaints handling legal matters etc.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance and mitigation of risks.
- Providing legal training to the business and liaising with external counsel when required.
The successful candidate will be:
- Qualified lawyer with 4+ years' experience as a lawyer gained in-house and or in private practice
- Regulatory lawyer or commercial lawyer with regulatory experience
- Strong background in UK and EU insurance regulatory matters
- Solid understanding of insurance law would be highly preferable
