How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

You will oversee vessel operations, offshore teams, subcontractors, and client relationships, ensuring safe, efficient, and high quality project execution within the Subsea Services division at Briggs Marine.

This role combines operational leadership, technical oversight, and strategic project delivery, making it ideal for an experienced offshore professional seeking a high impact position.

    Key Responsibilities:

    •    Technical governance — Produce and maintain departmental procedures, method statements, and operational documentation for marine installation and repair activities.

    •    Subcontractor management — Manage critical subcontractors and develop long term strategic partnerships that support reliable offshore project delivery.

    •    Tender & commercial support — Provide technical input during tender development to identify safe, economical, and effective installation methodologies.

    •    Client interface — Act as a key point of contact for existing and prospective subsea clients, ensuring strong communication and alignment throughout project lifecycles.

    •    HSE leadership — Champion Health, Safety, and Environmental performance, modelling best practice and ensuring full compliance with company policies and industry standards.

    •    Continuous improvement — Identify and promote opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce cost, and enhance operational performance without compromising safety or quality.

    The Candidate:

    •    Engineering degree (marine, mechanical, electrical, civil, or related discipline).

    •    Minimum 10 years’ experience in subsea cables, offshore construction, or marine operations.

    •    Strong project management background within subsea cable or offshore wind sectors.

    •    Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across internal teams, stakeholders, and clients.

    •    Solid understanding of vessel operations and offshore project logistics.

    What this role offers:

    •    Leadership of high profile offshore projects across the UK and NW Europe.

    •    Opportunity to shape operational standards and influence strategic delivery within a growing subsea division.

    •    A role with both technical depth and strategic impact, suited to experienced offshore professionals

    •    Regular travel and delivering work in the offshore environment is a key element of this role.
