How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Recruitment Consultant – Construction Trades & Labour

    Location: Edinburgh or Glasgow (Candidates based in either location welcome)

    The Role

    You'll manage the full recruitment lifecycle across the Construction Trades & Labour market, working with contractors and construction businesses to supply high-quality site-based personnel.

    This is a true 360 recruitment role, giving you the freedom to build lasting client relationships while developing your own candidate network.

    Key Responsibilities

    *

    Managing and developing a warm Construction Trades & Labour desk

    *

    Building new business relationships with main contractors, subcontractors and construction companies

    *

    Growing and managing existing client accounts

    *

    Sourcing, interviewing and registering trades and labour candidates

    *

    Recruiting for a range of site-based roles including labourers, groundworkers, joiners, bricklayers, electricians, plumbers, painters, steel fixers, plant operatives and other construction trades

    *

    Advertising vacancies and proactively headhunting suitable candidates

    *

    Matching candidates to temporary and permanent opportunities

    *

    Managing the full recruitment process from vacancy qualification through to placement

    *

    Conducting client meetings and site visits

    *

    Negotiating charge rates and commercial terms

    *

    Building and maintaining a strong pipeline of available workers

    *

    Ensuring compliance with right-to-work legislation and all relevant construction recruitment requirements

    Delivering an exceptional service to both clients and candidates

    About You

    We're looking for someone who has:

    Recruitment experience within the Construction Trades & Labour sector

    A strong track record of developing client relationships and generating new business

    *

    Excellent communication and negotiation skills

    A proactive and self-motivated approach

    The ability to work independently while contributing to a growing team
