Paediatric Occupational Therapist (Associate/Locum) – Independent Contractor - Stockport
We are looking for an experienced Paediatric Occupational Therapist to deliver a time-limited intervention package for a young person in a school setting.
This is an excellent opportunity for an OT with experience in sensory processing, school-based practice, and collaborative working with families and professionals.
Total time for this contract is 20-24 hours to be split across numerous weeks.
Please note we have multiple positions available as there is more than one contract.
The Role
The successful therapist will be responsible for delivering a complete occupational therapy intervention package, including:
- Initial consultation and assessment
- Administration, scoring and interpretation of the Sensory Processing Measure–2 (SPM-2)
- School observation
- Delivery of 8 individual therapy sessions
- Meeting with school staff to discuss the young person's needs and recommendations
- End-of-intervention review meeting with parents and social worker
- Development of interim planning documents and written resources
- Completion of a comprehensive end-of-intervention report with recommendations
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- Has experience working with children and young people
- Has experience completing sensory assessments and developing practical recommendations
- Is confident working collaboratively with schools, families, and multi-agency professionals
- Has excellent assessment, report writing, and communication skills
- Can work independently and manage their own caseload
Desirable
- Experience delivering school-based occupational therapy
- Experience supporting young people with sensory processing differences and emotional regulation
- Knowledge of evidence-informed sensory approaches and occupation-focused practice
