How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    The Company

This fast-growing and category-leading food business has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, nutritious products to a loyal and growing consumer base. With a clear focus on innovation, quality and continuous improvement, the company has successfully expanded its range across major UK retailers and continues to drive growth through new product development and strong customer relationships.

Operating with an entrepreneurial and values-led mindset, the business places real emphasis on collaboration, agility and doing the right thing for its customers. As the business continues to grow, there is an exciting opportunity for a technologist to join the team and develop their career within a fast-paced and supportive environment.

    The Role

This is a varied and hands-on role that sits across customer care and product quality activity, offering excellent exposure for someone early in their career. The role plays a key part in ensuring products meet the highest standards, while also acting as a point of contact for customers and consumers.

Day to day, the position involves managing customer and consumer enquiries through customer service / help desk platforms, ensuring responses are handled in a timely, professional and empathetic manner. It also includes supporting the complaints process through investigation, traceability and root cause analysis, working closely with manufacturing partners and suppliers to drive resolution and continuous improvement.

Alongside this, the role supports the technical and product function through maintaining specifications and documentation, reviewing packaging and artwork for compliance, and assisting with product quality reviews, benchmarking and sensory evaluation. There is also the opportunity to contribute to new product development and product change projects, providing valuable experience across the full product lifecycle.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering breadth, responsibility and development within a collaborative and fast-moving business.

    The Person

This role is ideally suited to a recent graduate or someone in the early stages of their career within food, looking to build strong foundations in technical and product development whilst utilising previous experience in customer service / care.

A degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition or a related discipline is preferred, along with an understanding of food safety principles such as HACCP. Any experience gained through placements, internships or early roles within food manufacturing, quality, technical or customer-facing environments would be advantageous.

The successful candidate will be highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Strong communication skills are essential, alongside the confidence to interact with a range of stakeholders including suppliers, manufacturers and internal teams. A proactive and solutions-focused mindset is key, with the curiosity and enthusiasm to learn quickly and develop within a dynamic business. A genuine passion for food and an interest in product quality and customer care will underpin success in the role. Experience of Zendesk, Zohodesk or Help Scout would be beneficial but not essential.

    Flexible Working

For this role, we are open to offering flexible working arrangements. This may include options such as adjustable start and finish times, and part-time or compressed hours, depending on individual needs and business requirements. We encourage open conversations about flexibility and are happy to explore arrangements that enable our people to perform at their best while balancing personal commitments.

If this sounds like an opportunity too good to miss, please apply or call Jessica on 0345 2600 737 or 07700 137 110.
