A food business in Lancashire is growing their Buying team. This is an opportunity to build a solid foundation in FMCG buying with a business who will support you with training and industry recognised procurement qualifications.
THE COMPANY
This is a business with a close-knit head office team. Lots of long serving people who have been with the business years mixed with lots of new people that have recently joined in newly created roles, a supportive leadership team that believes in proper investment in development / training of their employees, plus perks like visiting chefs coming in to demo products, early finish Fridays and regular social events. Commutable from Bolton, Blackburn, Burnley, Bury, North Manchester, Preston, Rochdale and surrounding areas.
THE ROLE
- Providing administrative support to the Buying team
- Updating product data, pricing, and other information across internal systems
- Supporting with ordering, including raising Purchase Orders and chasing order confirmations
- Supporting meetings by preparing samples, documents, and notes
- Assisting with market analysis and competitor price checks
- Working closely with other teams across NPD, Marketing, Quality, and Supply Chain
- Arranging travel and accommodation reservations for the Buying Team
- Attending UK events with the Buying team
ABOUT YOU
You don’t need to have a buying background to be successful in this role. But if you have worked as a Buying Admin, Trainee Buyer or Buying Assistant in any product area that would be a big advantage and would mean a higher starting salary. At minimum they’re looking for some experience in an office-based role where you’ve built a good foundation in admin, super organised (colour coded folders are your love language!), and a keen interest in working in buying or procurement. They can teach the rest. Due to their location you must be able to drive and have access to a car.
