How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Receptionist

    Secondary School | Brent
    Full-Time | Term Time Only (plus INSET days)
    September Start | Competitive Salary

    Are you an experienced school administrator looking for your next opportunity in a thriving secondary school this September?

    We are seeking a professional, organised and welcoming Receptionist to join a busy secondary school in Brent for a September start. This is a pivotal front-of-house role, requiring someone who can provide exceptional administrative support while acting as the first point of contact for students, parents, visitors and staff.

    Please note: Previous experience working in a UK secondary school and strong working knowledge of Bromcom are essential requirements for this role.

    Key Responsibilities

    Managing the school's busy reception and providing a professional first point of contact.
    Handling telephone, email and face-to-face enquiries.
    Using Bromcom to maintain accurate student records, attendance and administrative data.
    Supporting attendance, admissions and general school administration.
    Producing letters, reports and other documentation.
    Managing visitor sign-in procedures and safeguarding protocols.
    Providing administrative support to the Senior Leadership Team and wider school staff.
    Maintaining confidentiality and ensuring GDPR compliance.

    Essential Requirements

    Previous experience working in a UK secondary school.
    Strong working knowledge of Bromcom (applications without this experience cannot be considered).
    Excellent communication and customer service skills.
    Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
    Ability to prioritise a busy workload and work under pressure.
    Confident using Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook and Excel.
    Professional, friendly and approachable manner.
